There was a good turnout for the evening walkabout
in Delamere Forest. It had looked like the weather may get
the better of us - however, the rain stopped 15mins before
we were due to start and the sun came out. Unfortunately clouds
continued to roll in and we didn't get the evening light we
were after. However, we did get some good cloud formations
and found a good spot to take landscape and macro / abstract
images. Unfortunately Roger had to turn back with Wellie foot!
These are some of the images I managed to get. For everyone who attended the evening - check out the competition details at the bottom.

Evening light on Delamere water, Delamere Forest, Cheshire
I am sure a lot of us got this picture - and even though the light isn't as good as it could be I do like the contrast between the green and grey. The clouds also have some interest. Overall an acceptable landscape without being too special!

Earth from above!, Delamere, Cheshire
I thought that the green 'stuff' would result in an interesting image. At the time I thought the composition was better at an angle. When I looked at this on the monitor and thought it looked like a section of the earth. You can even see Great Britain if you look hard enough!

Competition
Results - Annual F&DPS walkabout photographer of the year
2007
Thanks to everybody who submitted photos. I
have looked at them over the last couple of days and decided
on a 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Unfortunately Phil was my 1st place
(which I thought was a bit odd as he usually comes 2nd) so
I decided to ask my wife Ann for her 1st, 2nd and 3rd and
she came up with the following.....
Exactly the same as me. So...
1st Place - Phil Mann

2nd Place - Lynda Haney
There must be a good photo out here somewhere

3rd Place - John Hughes
