This is probably one of my favourite images over the last few years and it wasn’t just a accident! I had driven past the tree hundreds of times and always thought that it would make a great image – but never got conditions that were good for the shot I wanted.
It was one really cold morning in Jan that I took this image – I had always planned to take the shot of the tree in the morning as that was when it was in silhouette. The sun this morning looked fantastic as there was just enough mist to create a sun ball effect. I then realised as the sun was rising that there was a chance to grab an image as if the tree was hugging the sun for warmth. I think this makes the image and I only had about one minute to get everything correct.
Sun Tree, Cheshire
I have passed the tree many times since and will probably never take another image of it – as this will be so difficult to beat!
